The company I joined in Jan, American Invsco. When I first started I was so happy to be very nice to everyone, they I noticed the receptionist is always having a very bad mood plus she is not helpful at all. I really do not know how she could survive for so many years there. My husband said it’s all me, I am too sensitive, I should just ignore her. But while Kim is not around, she could put the music very loud, always playing cards on the computer, chat on the phone or just to make jokes to the male employees. I could understand that she is young and she has to go to school, but still I wish that we could have a better person there as this is the reason that I do not want to go to that office. Maybe I should change myself but what do you do if someone very rode to anwser the phone?

As I am not sure if I would like to get a US citizenship since my Dad does not want to get a green card any longer. After long thoughts, I think it will be nice for him to consider my situation and not want to immigrate to the US. Although I would like him to come and visit but I really can’t afford for him to stay here. Sometimes I feel bad as he always mention that this is his dream and his only wish. But what can I do? The economy is so bad and there is no way for us to live together since our place is so small. Plus I really do not have the energy to help him with lots of stuff. But I still decide to go there tomorrow as then I could try to extend it to see what to do after it.

Since all the brokerage office is combined under the 111 E chestnut office. Last week, the director was asking who wanted to go there to cover some floor time, I thought it will be interesting to try it out. After a few tries and phone calls, I found one computer that I could be able to log on. The IT guy is not really helpful, as he told the people in the corporate office that I could use their computer if I need anything, but I am downstairs and they are on the second floor, hello? Right after I signed in the computer, there was a couple walked in. They are looking to purchase a two bedroom condo in the building. After a few phone calls, I figured out that the keys are at the management office on the second floor, there are three ladies there and they are very nice and helpful! Hopefully the doorman would refer to walk ins to me in the future instead of referring them to the 200 N Dearborn which he has been doing. So in order for me to make some friends and try to get some referrals, I went to Macy’s and got some chocolate for them:-)

Marvin Hlavac’s MapPoint 2009 Review focused on MapPoint 2009 GPS features and was generally positive regarding the product. However, in the discussion area for the Microsoft MapPoint 2009 article Richard Marsden voices some issues he found with the MapPoint 2009 release.

The software is now “slicker” looking with a Ribbonish interface and all new icons. Also, although I do believe the right-click drag option for select instead of a toggle button is an improvement, I empathize with the custom software developers who had over-ridden the right-click behaviour and must now do things differently in their programs.

I haven’t seen much coverage in GIS or general computing press, but it is still early and I’m sure more things will come out, especially after the MapPoint 2009 European release.

Since the building is eco-friendly, some of our clients ask us whether there is any eco-friendly we can recommend. We told them about the All Modern website which provides these kind of choices. I really like the design of this wall, see picture below, it is modern and the color is so bright — it brings life to the unit. Actually you could put different designs on there, meaning that you could send the pictures or designs that you like to the company and then they could make it for you!

There are a couple of the graduation parties that I have been invited to and kids birthday parties and more fancy parties with friends who are turning 40, friends going away parties, etc. Of course I do not want to show up with the same dress, but the problem is that I gave birth to two kids, and many of the dresses I had before can not fit me any more. So I heard about this website which offers many different kinds of evening dresses. Hope I could find some nice ones with the new trends and fashion of this year. But since we have the responsibility of taking of our kids, pay all kinds of bills, he could not be able to go back to school full time. So we are checking out the possibilities of on line study, which is more flexible as he could be able to manage his time 100 percent. He is a fast learner, so on line study will be very suitable for him as he could read and memorize very well. It will be hard for myself to take the online course as I am the kind of person need to listen to the teachers and to remember the text better.

After doing some researches, he found that Kaplan offers lots of Business Degree Online which includes but not limited to Business Management, Entrepreneurship, Sales Management and Internet Marketing. Since my husband has his own business, he would like to take the Business Management course, which would be concentrated on how to management your business, to max the business revenue and to minimum the business expenses, it also talks about how to manage staff, although we do not have so many staff yet, but we are thinking to enlarge our company in the near future, then we would need to know all the related skills.

Another benefit of the Kaplan is you could study anytime when you are ready, my husband mentioned that he would like to study one hour per day during lunch hour, so that he would not think about work at that time. This will be easy to do as all the materials are on line. Oh, one more thing he likes is that he could be interactive with other students through forums or online chat, you would be able to find lots of answers of your questions in that way too!

new movie came out called Remember Me and the first ten minutes of the
movie Julia Roberts returned to her hometown, and she walked through
her big old house and she thought back to how she used to dance when
she was a kid. So as she walked through the big rooms the showed
flashbacks of her when she was younger and Heidi played that part and
Heidi was spinning and dancing. And we were all proud of Heidi for
getting the part because she had just recently taken up dancing and
everybody loved her in the movies. So to celebrate Eric, Guy, Joseph,
Heidi and I went on a day trip and we found a town where every store
had a big section that was full of donuts, and all the donuts in town
were free. So we just went into lots of stores and had a great time
;-)

Once, our site was down for more than a week, which was very scary and made us lost lots of customers too. One friend told me to try the linux web hosting, they could provide 1.5 Tb for only $6.95 a month, plus they provide bonus features, such as Free Domain Forever, Host Unlimited Domains, $50 Yahoo Credit and $50 Google Credit. Since we do have over 30 websites ourselves, we spend a lot of money on the web hosting each year. If we switch to the Linux web hosting, we could cut our expenses by at least 35%. Then we could use the money on developing the website and other things. So we will be waiting for the site to complete and then we could try the services, if we are happy, we will move all the sites over there.

This reminded me to help my parents to dye there hair in their 50s. It is very trendy in China for people do not have grey hair; there are so many brands of the hair products. I used to buy a Japanese brand with dark brown color as my mom always afraid that her hair is too dark. So it is not new for the Chinese leaders to have dark hair, this is a history from 15 years ago.

Once we arrived at the Chicago O’Hare airport and we decided to eat a dinner first at the Hilton hotel by the airport before going home. We are surprised to find out that there were no taxis waiting at the hotel since there are shuttle buses to the airport. So end up we have to use a limo to get home. A second surprise is that the price is not as expensive as we thought, plus we the ride a lot nicer, the limo driver is very polite, not as some taxi drivers that always talks on the phone while driving. My two kids both have motion sickness and most of the taxi drivers tend to be in a big hurry to drive the car very jerky. But this limo was so smooth, none of them mentioned their stomach hurt at that ride.

You could find more that 50 car hire companies through this website, so next time when you travel you could try out the services too, especially when you travel with little ones. And remember to let us know your experience.

We went to Hing Kee, the restaurant is clean and new, the waitresses are very helpful and always come to our table to pour tea or water. While I was asking about the recommendations for dishes, they recommend a Tofu with mushroom dish for the kids, which came out to be a good choice as the tofu is so soft yet favorable. Lydia loves it, I bet if Elizabeth did not have sushi she would have a lot too. Eric ordered a beef stew with noodle, it was very delicious and spicy!

We went to Mexico for a week with a family and then went to visit Eric’s relatives for a week. We had so much fun and good food in these two weeks. Elizabeth has enjoyed playing with Tracy’s kids, they are very good kids. Joshua is the same age with Elizabeth, it is so cute to Liston to their conversation. Once Elizabeth was playing Joey’s toy, Joshua said to her that is Joey’s toy, then Elizabeth said that Joey wanted to share the toy right now. I could not help but laughing, but they are pretty serious at each other.

It has blue sky, a whole wall of the chalk board, an electronic fish tank hanging on the wall. lots of new toys too. Elizabeth and Ethan were both very happy and played with two other older kids. We all know that the Chicago winter is long, although it is approaching to Feb but the temperature is dropping everyday, we just went out to play in the snow for 10 minutes, but all of us are freezing and has to come back immediately. So it is great to have a play room in the building.

My husband got lots of good parts and hardware and assembled one computer recently by following the instructions, the computer works pretty well now.

It is our first time to take the kids there. They had lots of fun. There are so many things for them to play and explore over there. First you can make big bubbles, the biggest one you can stand in it. Then there are lots of different toys to play in the water, use light to draw on the wall, lots of different puzzles, use air to suck the balls or blow the little kites. I have learned something there too. We have spent 4 hours there and it was a great experience. The only thing I was hoping is if they could have a small food court, it only has some vending machines and one for the milk does not work, so we feel lucky that we have brought some lunch, otherwise, we may not be able to last that long.

I tried it and it really worked very well, I do not need to put my ear by the phone any more. I am glad that I could help people around me to save some money as we are in the same boat, need to call home a lot. I have been calling her at least once a month, each time when we went to China to visit, she has been my great help! She came to visit me in Chicago in September, I am so sorry that she missed home very much, she was talking about going home almost everyday. Then I did not have a good spirit to change her mood. So after she left in October I called her once and did not talk to her until last night. We had a good conversation and she has invited me to go to visit China again this year.
I am glad that we are back to our good relationship again.

Since it is free, we took advantage of the service and started to use it. We all know that at work we trust our IT guys to back up everything for us everyday supposedly, but that is not true, I have been working with different companies for the last 10 years and I have lost data in the last 10 years too, due to the clumsiness of the hardware or the IT manager we were using. At home we hardly remember to back up, maybe only for some very important documents then we will copy it to another file on the same computer, this is not a joke, and realistically I bet there are lots of people are back up on in this way. He told me it is great fun and after you do it one, you will really want to do it again. He found his snow skateboards on line and he likes it very much. I tried to search for some movie stars, there are lots of interesting story about them. I could find a few friends that we did not have contact for a few years, this is really cool. Sometimes, it’s hard to keep contact especially like me coming to a very different city, so phone numbers change, e mail address change, and the spam folder catches not only the bad e mails but also the good e mails, so it also made me loose some contacts. So I am very happy to see my friends again on the web with their pictures, their little stories. One girl from high school was crying when I called her on the phone, as we were really good friends and she has been trying to find me for years too. Another thing I like this site is that they can find people all over the world not only people in the US. They do use lots of big search engines, such as Yahoo, MSN. Also, you can search people by contributed tags such as hair color, job title, Syracuse Alum, etc. Along with a search result, people’s profiles also list other areas on the web where they can be found (Wikipedia, LinkedIn, blog, etc) and have links to any news stories relating to them. You can link yourself to the person you found on line, or to vote and say if this is the right person. It is fun to just search for the people who has the my name and to read through their achievement, or try to contact them to say hi.

With the men and the women and the girls and the boys standing side by side, with the bravest amoung us (often the women and children) shoring up the weakest points and tempering our greatest fears.

Against a foe that seems much bigger than our small numbers, we still “know” that together we form a defense and weapon much mightier than the foe could ever imagine. Out of our small numbers ranks through our imaginations and our hopes and our love we create a combined spirit with an enourmously thick shield that takes any blow (bomb, disease, depression, addiction/habit, hatred) and after a breif pause of silence and reflection we respond with trillions and googles bubbles which float slowly and purposefully outward in all directions - some smaller than a virus and some 1000s of times larger than the foe - each one carrying the most potent potion/medicine from the depths of our combined reserves of love, passion and faith. The medicine provides all that is needed to help placate the foe and give it the insight/knowledge it would need.

I think the wine is wearing off. Very glad to have known you all and glad to know we have each other to lean on and call on as needed.

The ball that is in the socket did not heal properly and now has to be cut off and an artificial one put in. The doctor won’t know if the whole hip needs to be replaced or not until he goes in. This surgery should hold up for about 10 - 15 years and then will have to be done again.

faster day from Cape May to Atlantic City. We had to take the ICW which had its own challenges- curves, narrow channels, shallow and shoaling. We couldn’t sit back and relax almost the entire time – 50 miles - 6 hours - ridiculous isn’t it? But we did see lots of birds and very different scenery which I will put up on website soon.
